What data we process and why

  • When you write to us by email or call us: your name, your contact details and whatever you tell us, in order to reply and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering the enquiries we receive (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • When you visit the site: the server technically logs the IP address, the date and the page requested, to keep the service secure and available. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use these logs to identify you or to build profiles.

How long we keep it

Communications, for as long as the relationship or enquiry lasts and, afterwards, for the periods during which legal liabilities may arise. The server's technical logs are archived once a month and deleted automatically after two months at most.

Who we share it with

We do not disclose your data to third parties unless the law requires it. Our web and email hosting provider, Raiola Networks, S.L. (Spain), processes it on our behalf as a data processor. There are no international data transfers.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to info@urbiaweise.com. If you consider that we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es).

Cookies

This site does not place cookies or similar technologies on your device, so it does not need to ask for your consent to do so.

If you use your municipality's app

Everything above refers to this website. The waste collection apps we build for local councils work differently: in them, the data controller is your local council, and URBIA WEISE, S.L. acts on its behalf as processor. We process that data only to provide the service, following the council's instructions, and do not use it for any purpose of our own. The privacy information that applies is the one your council approves, which you will find inside the app under “My data and privacy”. What follows is a summary of what the product does.

  • What is processed. The address and cadastral reference of your property. For each deposit: when it was made, at which container and, if you allow it, the position of your phone at that moment. A reference to the phone it was made from, which is an irreversible digest of an identifier the app creates when it is installed: it is not your number and does not reveal whose phone it is, only that two deposits came from the same one. Your questions to the guide and, if you send them, your photos, without their location data. We do not ask for your name.
  • What for. To give you the collection calendar, help you separate your waste and record your participation, so that your council can apply the reduction in the waste charge if it has introduced one.
  • How the reduction is decided. Automatic rules can flag a deposit as doubtful, but a flag takes nothing away from you until a person reviews it, and you can dispute it from the app. Some of the households that qualify are chosen at random for a person to check. No reduction is refused unless a person decides so and records why. No score or profile of your household is built.
  • Where it is kept. On servers located in the European Union (Germany). Waste recognition happens on those same servers: we do not send your questions or your photos to any external artificial intelligence provider. One exception, only if you turn on notifications: they reach your phone through the notification services of Expo, Apple and Google, which receive your phone's notification identifier and the text of the notification, and may process them outside the European Economic Area.
  • The register's seal. To be able to show that the register of deposits has not been altered, a mathematical fingerprint of the whole is calculated every day, and it may be published on a public blockchain. That fingerprint contains no personal data and cannot be traced back to any.
  • Your rights. From within the app you can download all your data and ask for it to be deleted. You can ask for a person to review any decision about your reduction and challenge it. For anything else, contact your council or write to us at support@urbiaweise.com and we will pass it on.
